  • Training Yunde shoulder

    Upper: Tosyu
    Lower: Makiwara

One of my week points is balance of left shoulder.

As a result of check left shoulder by Tosyu, confirmation it was moved from initial position -Yugamae-.

What does not work in Tosyu is more pronounced in Makiwara.

Because the shoulder is unstable, My body was vibrated when Kai at Makiwara.

So, it is necessary that more training for update left shoulder balance.

  • Style check -Tosyu-

My image of the gyousya is rotating and stretching arms in radio calisthenics.

The calisthenics is natural arm movement, so it is same movement in Budo.

The purpose in Budo movements is to achieve maximum efficiency.

For this purpose, natural movement is important.

  • Restore Nigirikawa

    note: x2 speed

    My style

When I restore Nigirikawa, base paper was pasted on anko and the bow.

Role of base paper is fine adjustment of grip shape and grip guard.

  • Study of Hanare_RH

My style, The right hand is designed to feel closer to the same sensation as the bare hand.

Left movie is Hanare motion with soft glove, the right is it with Kyudo glove with 4 fingers.

The details naturally differ, but the basic idea is the same.

  • Yazei analysis 2

I tried 2 pattern Hanare, One is tight Tenouchi  – top in the movie-, the other is soft Tebouchi – under in it-.

As a result, I could see Tenouchi affects Yazei.

Focusing on point that arrow was away from string, it was presume that Yazei is possible to check.

The N point in picture, neutral point of string without load, is wave center.

A point is closer the bow than N point, B is far than N.

For arrow is away from A, string is fast and push arrow strongly.

B is the opposite of A.

So, it is possible to check that point that arrow was away from string.

  • Yazei analysis 1

I have heard that allow speed is determined by variety of factors.

One is Tenouchi skill. The tenouchi is most influential at time of Hanare.

    I estimate,

at Hanare, the arrow is pushed string and released, push speed and release timing is influential at Tenouchi.

I will try the effect of Hanare with Tenouchi skill.

  • Tsumahazhiki

I trained My hanare occurred by Tsumahazhiki in the book – Kyudo Dokuhon- .

    The my points for Tsumahazhiki

    • Select Yugake to be fitting my hand
    • Equip Yugake for fitting Torikake
    • Check my hanare many times by video and friends and mentor
  • My Yugake My hand

    Upper: Yotsu-gake
    Lower: Yawaraka-boushi
My technique, when I use any Yugake, I try to Gyousha in my style.

That’s why I’m trying to make sure I have my own style when I equip Yugake.

  • My tenouchi subject

My tenouchi -left hand- is not at right angle to the bow when Kai.

As a result,  wrist is turned when Hanare which is wasteful action.

    I’ll practice and improve.

  • Doudzukuri technique

In 弓道教本 -Kyudo-Kyouhon- , Godou is practical skill for each purpose.

    -Original text as follow

    胴造りには、反・屈・懸・退・中の五つの胴造り ・・・ 目的と場合によって使われる練達者の応用動作である。 –

I think that each purpose is follows,

中胴 (Chuu Dou) : The basic Doudzukuri

懸る胴 (Kakaru Dou) : For short range target, so it’s mean easy

退く胴 (Noku Dou) : For long range target, so it’s mean easy

屈む胴 (Kagamu Dou) :  What ?

    反る胴 (Soru Dou) : What?

So I tried Kakaru Dou and Soru Dou.

    Soru Dou (Upper Pic.)

In 現代弓道小辞典 – Kyudo dictionary- , Soru Dou is useful for using powerful bow. I tried Soru Dou, I feel that pull the bow easily than Chuu Dou. So, Soru Dou is useful for using powerful bow.

    Kagamu Dou (Lower Pic.)

In the book, Kagamu Dou is useful for in dark, penetrate, and pinpoint aiming.

I tried Kagamu Dou, I feel that each my joints became fixed and less blurred.  As a result of less blurred by Kagamu Dou, it is able to aiming critical point in target and increased penetrating power.
