    I find the section in the book Gendai-Kyudo-Kouza that was similar to the page –With/without glove-.
    1. Clip the arrow by the thumb and index finger
    2. Clip the arrow, and hook the string by the ring finger
    3. Hook the string by three or four fingers
    4. Hook the string by the thumb and hook the thumb by index finger and middle finger
    Each style has each culture.

  • Check my triple cross

    I checked my style from above view.
    The result is that my shoulder line was not correctly.
    So, my issues were identified.

    I tried that the issue will be improved.
    The appearance is improved but the issues were identified with inner force. The issues will not be improved soon with my skill.

  • Relationship Kyudo and Oriental medicine

    Bose Kyudo and Oriental medicine are utilized in Japan.
    Therefore, the contents of Kyudo are sometimes expressed figuratively in terms used in Oriental medicine.
    For example,

    • Ice: Stiffness of the body and poor mobility. Ex. Hypothermia
    • Hot: Slovenly and helpless. Ex. Heatstroke
    • Float: Feelings are floating around. Ex. Become agitated
    • Hit: All he thinks about is hitting the target. Ex. No essence
    • Sink: Feeling down and restless. Ex. Depressive condition
    • Biase: The force is biased to one side.
    • Selfish: Being selfish.
    • Divide: The use of force in different ways. Ex. Distraction
    • Nothing: Feel no power. Ex. Languor
    • Plague: Repeat the following, Hayake, Motare and Biku.

  • Various feathers

    The feather for arrow mainly used by tail feathers or flight feathers.
    Tail feathers are often 12, 6 on each side.

  • Kyudo analysis by back view

    Analyzing body movements from the back is very instructive.
    Especially, helpful to view the movement of the scapula.

    Initial condition at the day.

    Final condition at same day.

    Scapular movement is different at the initial condition and at the final.
    Differences in movement depend on the condition of the muscles.
    It is considered important to adjust the movement so that it is constant.

    Criterion : The elbow opened more than 90 degrees

    Chuu_Banare (Release with middle motion)

    Criterion : The elbow opened near 90 degrees

  • How to put arrow

    1st: Place clip on floor
    2nd: Place arrow head on ground

    Place arrow differently depending on location.

    The ground location, it is preferable to place arrow head on ground.

    If place clip on ground, A stone could get caught in clip.

    The other – floor location-, it is preferable to place clip on floor.

    If place arrow head on floor, the floor may be stained or scratched.
